What a fabulous finish to the 2019 Horse Show season. We were privileged to be a part of many teams this year. I take great pride when I am able to contribute to a successful venture but cannot do it alone so first and foremost I would like to thank my support team Lisa, Courtney, Lindsay, and Gaby. These are four extremely hard-working women who are essential to our program. Another big thank you goes out to the clients this weekend, you guys are awesome.
Leading off our final day of horse showing was 2019 filly “Broadb Feel the Love” who strutted into 1st position for her owner/breeder Tori Broadbent. Following was two year olds “Canadian Crown Royal” standing 4th for his owner/breeder Diane Newman and “Annings Intuition” standing 7th for Anning Mill Farms. A big win in a very competitive two year old class for Rachel Howell’s “Annings Golden Nugget” and a 5th place overall. Next the beloved “Cherrybrook Clover” presented by owner Nicole McF. for a 2nd place finish in the 3 and older mare class and 4th overall. Lastly we had Lindsay Vandenboom presenting “Alohamora HD” in the hunter suitability for owner/breeder Ashli Hincke-Dodd for a 3rd place finish.
Congratulations to all who presented their young horses this year at the 2019 Canadian national final, The Royal Winter fair! It takes a village and I’m so excited to see just how the preparation and quality continues to rise! 🥂 See you all in 2020!
And that’s a wrap for our 2019 horse show season!
We had a fun season showing many ponies on various circuits. Congratulations to all our fellow competitors, all the equines and we look forward to seeing you all out next season!
Lindsay Vandenboom showed the Large Pony Division with ‘R Three Wishes qualifying for Provincial Championships after only four shows. They had a successful showing at Championships landing top ribbons. Lindsay also had the opportunity to join Misty Morning Farm team on qualifying ‘R First Noelle for the Royal Winter Fair.
Carlyn Elliot showed the Small Pony Division with Alexandria’s Lightning McQueen on both the Trillium Circuit and our Ontario A circuit successfully. They had a successful Provincial Championships with some top ribbons and have qualified for the Royal Winter Fair.
Gaby Gaussen had a successful year showing two year old Annings Intuition in hand at Devon Horse Show and has qualified for the Royal Winter Fair.
Rachel Howell’s Annings Golden Nugget had a fabulous debut at the Caledon Fair and qualified for the Royal Winter Fair.
Onward now to the Royal Winter Fair, Indoor season and many more young equines to prepare for next season!
What a wet and wild spring we have had here at the farm! Two new boys to introduce, a successful horse show debut with young ponies and the prestigious Devon horse show fast approaching.
Arriving on April 4th 2019 was Orion AM, a lovely big colt by Escudo 1 out of Latitude AM (Westporte).

Most recently on May 15th 2019 we delivered Annings Super Mario! Mario is sired by Small land Martello and out of Cherrybrook Blue Velvet (Gayfields Vida Blue). We are thrilled with the results of this cross and expect he will be lovely on the line before his debut in the large pony hunter ring.

We had a fabulous day on Friday at our first ‘A’ show of the season with two green ponies competing in their respective divisions. Both the riders and ponies showed much potential and efforts in their debut and we look forward to seeing them progress over the season.

The count down is now on for the prestigious Devon Horse Show and our favourite the Young Pony Breeding classes!
As we roll forward into our season of mud, rain and forever changing blankets it also brings anticipation of new foals!
First on the short list to foal is our homebred mare Latitude AM. ‘Letty’, as we refer to her, is a five year old sired by Westporte and delivered to us by her late dam Wooden Ships. Wooden Ships had a tragic accident when Letty was just six weeks of age and post surgery was unable to survive. Lucky for us we had a special mini named Casper who came to raise Letty. We are forever grateful to him and to his owner Michelle.
Latitude AM is in foal to Escudo 1 and due early April.

2014 Medium Pony Gelding by Cusop Jovial out of Northwind Catnip
“Andy” is a full sibling to several successful ponies including “Anisette” and stallion “Northwind Catcall”. We anticipate nothing but success for this medium pony gelding.
Big Congratulations to Mindy and Loire on their acquisition of Annings Marlow. We anticipate nothing but success for this large pony gelding.
2016 Large Pony Gelding by Small Land Martello out of Northwind Copycat
We have kicked off show season 2018 with young pony show, JD Leap Into Spring. An always impressive horse show that is held at an excellent venue supported with many sponsors and always very well organised. We couldn’t have ask for a better day.
We brought three young ponies out to make their debut:
Annings Catapult made his debut in the under saddle classes with child rider in the irons. Very impressed with this young pony to be piloted to a 3rd and 8th place finish.
Canadian Crown Royal owned and bred by Diane Newman had a short time to prepare and his great attitude shined as he took all the new experiences in stride. He won the yearling class which was sponsored with a lovely cooler in memory of Ellah Dubeau-Kielty’s “Pippa”, Crown Ridge Simply Stated.
Annings Marlow had an excellent debut to his show career leading his two year old class and being awarded Junior Champion.
As spring time slowly approaches in our neck of the woods we find ourselves anticipating a fabulous season full of fresh starts, horse shows and new foals!
Our show season will begin with JD Leap Into Spring show on May 5th. We are excited to have sponsored the show with a breeding to Small Land Martello to be given to the Best Young Pony.
Our first “due dates” for the foals begins early may and extends all the way through summer ending late July.
